Haemoglobin level < 7.0 g/dL = severe anaemia, between 7.0 and 9.9 g/dL = moderate anaemia, between 10.0 and 10.9 g/dL = mild anaemia and Hb ≥ 11 g/dL = non-anaemic. The age groups presented here are as per WHO haemoglobin concentrations for the diagnosis of anaemia and assessment of severity [17]
