Overview of selected properties of Ig that are affected by glycosylation. (A) Mannan-binding protein (MBP) binds G0 glycan structures of IgG and induces the lectin complement pathway. (B) FcγR bind better to glycosylated Fc as compared to de-glycosylated Fc. (C) Sialylated IgG has an anti-inflammatory effect.
