The effect of immunomodulatory medication in subsequent pregnancies after a diagnosis of chronic histiocytic intervillositis (CHI). (A) Change in CHI lesion severity in pregnancies treated with or without immunomodulatory medication, compared to the participant's first placenta diagnosed with CHI from a previous pregnancy. Severity of CHI was determined by pathologist's report. Immunomodulatory treatment refers to a regimen including one or both of prednisolone and hydroxychloroquine in combination with either aspirin, heparin, or both. Pregnancies without immunomodulatory treatment were untreated or received aspirin or heparin or both.
