TABLE 1.

Substrate utilization of selected sources (“co-catabolic substrate subset”) by two Gram-negative (Pseudomonas agarici; Pseudomonas sp. DR 5-09) and two Gram-positive (Bacillus thuringiensis serovar israeliensis; Streptomyces griseoviridis) bacterial strains exposed to four light regimes during incubation (dark incubation, incubation under short-wave monochromatic blue, long-wave monochromatic red and continuous polychromatic white light-emitting diodes (LEDs) at 20°C.

The experiment was conducted using phenotypic microarray panels PM01-04 (Biolog Inc., Haywood, CA, United States) with tetrazolium chloride as an indicator for respiration. Substrate utilization was registered in a computer-integrated camera system (Omnilog), expressed in Omnilog units and calculated on the basis of maximum curve height. Data analysis based on general linear model included light regime and strains as factors as well as their interactions and was followed by Tukey test (p < 0.05). 1Mean values followed by the same letter do not differ significantly based on GLM followed by Tukey test (p < 0.05).
