Different CMC types and CA crosslinking parameters were adopted to control the extent of physical and chemical crosslinking in the resulting CB-SAHs.
Details on the CMC characterization are provided in the Supplementary Methods.
*For each CMC type, values of Mw and polydispersity (PDI) were evaluated by size exclusion chromatography, while values of thixotropic index (TI), calculated as described previously27, were estimated by means of hysteresis loop tests on 2% w/v aqueous CMC solutions.
