Levels of pro‐ and anti‐inflammatory cytokines in infected and uninfected children from the three study sites combined. Plasma concentration of interleukin (IL)‐6 (a) and IL‐10 (b) were quantified from asymptomatic Plasmodium falciparum‐infected and ‐uninfected children by enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Data are represented with the median of cytokine concentrations in pg/ml with interquartile range.
