Molidustat overrides the impaired HIF signaling caused by insulin resistance. Hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF)1α protein levels in control (Con) and insulin-resistant (IR) human cardiomyocytes, cultured in a state of normoxia (Nx) or hypoxia (Hx) for 16 h. Molidustat (Moli) was added to insulin-resistant cells just prior to entry into hypoxic chamber (A).
