Note that only round spermatids express SP-10 in A and C (white arrows), and the lack of staining in spermatocytes (black arrows in A). Insets in A and C highlight the lack of SP-10 expression in spermatocytes of control mice. In contrast, several spermatocytes in cKO testis (B and D) show staining for SP-10 within the cytoplasm (black arrows in B and D). Arrowheads in C and D point to spermatocytes in meiotic division at stage XII.
