Postoperative Atrioventricular Block
I Permanent pacemaker implantation is indicated for postoperative advanced second- or third-degree AV block that persists for at least 7–10 days after cardiac surgery. B-NR [21,22]
I Permanent pacemaker implantation is indicated for late-onset advanced second- or third-degree AV block especially when there is a prior history of transient postoperative AV block. C-LD [23]
IIb Permanent pacemaker implantation may be considered for unexplained syncope in patients with a history of transient postoperative advanced second- or third-degree AV block. C-LD [24,25]
IIb Permanent pacemaker implantation may be considered at <7 postoperative days when advanced second- or third-degree AV block is not expected to resolve due to extensive injury to the cardiac conduction system. C-EO
