A distance tree showing the genetic relationships among E. coli ST38 samples was reconstructed using RaxML, based on core genome single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). The tree was rooted with E. coli strain EC958 (accession number GCA_000285655.3). Overlaid on the tree are selected β-lactamase genes predicted for each isolate using ResFinder implemented in ABRicate.
