The prevalence of different conditions leading to iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) was similar in the ferric carboxymaltose (FCM) and the ferric gluconate (FG) groups. Benign upper gastrointestincal (GI) tract disease include esophagitis, stomach and duodenal ulcers-erosions; benign lower GI tract disease include haemorrhoids and large bowel diverticula and polyps.
