*Inhibition of E. coli HM605 adherence to C2BBe1 tissue culture cells. Comparison between adherence levels (expressed in%) obtained when the two GOS preparations (at 0.5, 5, 25 mg/ml GOS, as indicated), the Mono-mix or negative control (no sugars added, representing 100% adherence) were tested. Differences were considered statistically significant when P < 0.05. Results were generated by One-way analysis of variance as reported in Table 8.
