Schematic overview of receptor-targeting molecular imaging for breast cancer. The molecular probes consist of a ligand, linker, chelator, and radionuclide. Ligands that bind to the overexpressed receptors on breast cancer cells can be coupled to a chelator often through a linker. Chelators enable the labeling of ligands with radionuclides such as 68Ga and 99mTc, which are combined through a linker.
