Doxycycline and tetracycline treatment decreases MMP-9 expression in the retina and vitreous of mice after PVR induction. The eye sections of naïve mice or mice with PVR induction and treated with saline or doxycycline and tetracycline were subjected to immunofluorescence staining with DAPI for the nucleus (red) and the antibody against MMP-9 (green) 21 days after induction.
