The goal of treatment in osteoarthritis is to alleviate inflammatory pain and improve physical function through non-pharmacological and pharmacological interventions.
Therapy selection is hampered by older age, comorbidities and polypharmacy.
This narrative review addresses all phases of the patient journey from a multidisciplinary perspective, focusing on the safety of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
We provide practical indications for general practitioners and specialists managing patients with osteoarthritis who suffer from chronic inflammatory pain.
