taken from World Bank (2018) on per capita GDP of nations (expressed in thousands of international dollars, at 2017 prices) and estimates from the Global Footprint Network (Wackernagel and Beyers 2019) on ecological footprint per capita (in global hectares). A total of 136 countries are in the sample, including both developed and developing countries.
