Analysis of bacterial burden over the course of B. pertussis infection. Bacteria were quantified by serially diluted CFU following intranasal challenge. CFU counts were determined from lung homogenate (A), trachea (B), and nasal lavage (C). The results are shown as means ± the SEM (n = 4).
