Morphologic abnormalities in Nup50-null mouse embryos. Embryos were dissected from pregnant Nup50+/− females after timed matings, and the Nup50 genotypes are indicated. The E8.5, E10.5, and E13.5 embryos were stained for β-galactosidase activity which reveals the endogenous Nup50 expression pattern. The E19.5 embryos were fixed in paraformaldehyde and stored in 70% ethanol prior to photography.
