(A) Control cells (2B4/neo) and Bcl-xL-overexpressing cells (2B4/Xl c.10) were treated with the indicated amounts of hydrogen peroxides, and viability was determined by PI exclusion 12 h later. (B) Cells were treated with hydrogen peroxide (50 nmol/105 cells) and at the indicated time points, stained with TMRE, and subjected to FACS analysis to determine their ΔΨm. Only live cells (as judged by forward-scatter and side-scatter criteria) were analyzed.
