The clustering variable were prespecified including: HOMA2 B = homoeostatic model assessment 2 estimates of β-cell function, HOMA2 IR = homoeostatic model assessment 2 estimates of insulin resistance, HbA1c = Glycated hemoglobin, AgeDiag = age at diagnosis, and BMI = body mass index.
