A. SDHmax (per fiber volume) varied across fiber types (p<0.0001; one-way ANOVA). The SDHmax of type I and type IIa DIAm fibers were comparable but significantly higher than that in type IIx/IIb fibers (p<0.0001; Tukey’s post hoc test). B. SDHmax was normalized for mitochondrial volume in each DIAm fiber. SDHmax per mitochondrial volume varied across fiber types (p<0.0001; one-way ANOVA). The SDHmax per mitochondrial volume of type I and IIa fibers were comparable but significantly higher than that of type IIx/IIb (p<0.0001; Tukey’s post hoc test).
