Expression of the mRNAs was determined by RT-qPCR in whole body of larvae of the indicated instars; the final-instar stages were day 1 (L4 d1), day 2 (L4 d2), and L4-instar larvae with visible siphons 6 to 7 h before pupation (L4 S). Levels of mRNAs are expressed as copy number per 10,000 copies of rpL32 mRNA. Each data point is average of three to seven independent biological replicates, each from three larvae.
