The structure of LDH is composed of a 2D, inorganic, brucite-like structure. Layered hydroxide has a similar structure, but only composed of M2+ instead of M2+/M3+ in the LDH. The counter anion, An- together with water molecules are present in the inorganic interlayer [26].
