Important points to consider during assisted mechanical ventilation.

Vigorous spontaneous efforts during AMV (may increase lung stress/and strain) Assess inspiratory efforts by monitoring transpulmonary swing pressures

Patient–Ventilator Asynchrony (most commonly with increased respiratory drive, excessive sedation, and hyperinflation) Assess especially for ineffective efforts, autotriggering, and double triggering (or other types of asynchrony)
