Prevention of heat-induced Hsp72 accumulation eliminates suppression of JNK in fibroblasts subjected to severe heat shock. Fibroblasts were infected with adenovirus expressing Hsp72 antisense RNA, incubated either with (control) or without (+AS) tetracycline. Then the cells were pretreated with mild heat shock, and after 16 h of recovery, were exposed to severe heat shock as described for Fig. 1C.
