Study name	Non‐pharmacological Prevention of Postoperative Delirium by Occupational Therapy Teams (PREPODOT)
Methods	Randomised controlled trial
Participants	160 patients (≥75 years) and older admitted to hospital for highly complex elective surgery
Interventions	Group 1: occupational therapy intervention twice a day plus standard non‐pharmacological prevention intervention during 5 days after surgery Group 2: standard non‐pharmacological intervention during 5 days after surgery
Outcomes	Primary outcome: delirium at 5 days using the CAM, subsyndromal delirium at 5 days using the CAM Secondary outcome(s): length of hospital stay at 30 days, mortality, severity of delirium at 5 days using the CAM‐S, duration of delirium at 5 days.
