Figure 2. Changes in the morphology of HEK 293 cells. (A) HEK 293 cells were treated with 0, 25, 50, and 100 mgI/ml iopromide for 48 h. Changes in morphology were observed under a light microscope at 200× magnification. (B) Representative image HEK 293 cells -treated with 50 mgI/ml iopromide. Red arrows indicate the presence of vacuoles in iopromide-treated HEK 293 cells, suggesting that these cells were undergoing autophagy. Blue arrows indicate cells that became round and bright, suggesting that these cells were undergoing apoptosis.
