Treatment with saline (negative control), ciprofloxacin (30 mg kg⁻¹, q12h), and GT-1 (q6h) or GT-1/GT-55 (q6h) at one of the three specified doses was initiated at 6 h post-infection and continued for 7 days (n = 10/group).
