Sporothrix mediated cytotoxicity of human monocyte-derived macrophages (hMDMs). Sporothrix schenckii or Sporothrix brasiliensis yeasts were incubated with hMDMs at 37°C in a CO₂ incubator for 4–18 h in the medium containing whole (wHS) or inactivated (iHS) human serum. Following, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity was measured using CytoTox^® Non-Radioactive Cytotoxicity Assay (Promega) kit. Results are the mean ± SEM values of two independent experiments in duplicate. Statistical analysis was performed by ANOVA with Turkey’s multiple comparison posttest (**p < 0.005 and *p < 0.05).
