Inhibition of METTL1 impairs lung cancer progression in vitro

(A and B) Validation of the depleted effect of short hairpin (sh)METTL1 by western blot in A549 and H1299 lung cancer cells. (C and D) Knockdown of METTL1 suppressed proliferation of A549 and H1299 cells. (E and F) METTL1-depleted A549 and H1299 lung cancer cells formed less colonies in colony-formation assays. (G and H) Knockdown of METTL1 induced an increased ratio of G0/G1-phase cells and decreased the ratio of G2/M-phase cells in lung cancer cells. (I−L) Knockdown of METTL1 suppressed cell migration (I and J) and invasion (K and L) in A549 and H1299 cells. Data were presented as mean ± SD. Scale bar, 100 μm. (One-way ANOVA, ∗p < 0.05, ∗∗p < 0.01, ∗∗∗p < 0.001, #p < 0.05, ##p < 0.01, compared to shGFP.)
