A multivariable model combining McGill oximetry score and age predicted major perioperative respiratory adverse events in children following adenotonsillectomy with an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of 0.68 (95% CI: 0.52, 0.84). The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve was 0.77 (95% CI: 0.53, 1.00) for the subgroup of children with major comorbidities and 0.63 (95% CI: 0.40, 0.85) for the subgroup of children without major comorbidities.
