Immunohistochemistry of MBP in the PVWM of AD and control brains. (A) Intact MBP immunostaining in the PVWM of control brain. A thin myelin-deficit zone (MDZ) was observed under the ependymal cells. Some ependymal cells were stained for Intact MBP. (B) Intact MBP staining in the PVWM of AD brain. The MDZ was much wider in AD brain. There was a loss of many ependymal cells. A few areas of no tissue staining were observed (arrows).
