¹Supplementation of 0.1% of MOS in the diet and approximately 10⁹ cfu of LM per pig was done in Phase I (days 1 to 14) and Phase II (days 15 to 28). The n = 4 fecal samples per treatment (one pig per pen) were collected via rectal massage on days 0, 14, and 21 and analyzed for volatile fatty acids using gas chromatography.
