B6 and pMT-10 mice were infected with M. tuberculosis H37Rv via aerosol route and IL-10 overexpression induced after day 5 after infection. B6 mice maintained in the same conditions were used as controls. (A) Frequency and number of CD4+ T cells in the lungs of mice throughout infection. (B) Frequency and number of IFN-γ–producing CD4+ T cells after in vitro restimulation with the immunodominant ESAT-61–20 peptide. (C) IFN-γ protein in lung supernatants determined by ELISA.
