MELK(-kd) is not expressed in the glucose medium (upper panel), MELK and MELK-kd are expressed in galactose medium (lower panel). Tubulin serves as a loading control. Two technical replicates from the same lysate were loaded per sample. (B) Serial tenfold dilutions of the indicated BY4741 yeast strains harboring either an empty vector, a plasmid expressing MELK, or a plasmid expressing MELK-kd were spotted onto synthetic medium-containing plates supplemented with either glucose or galactose.
