LCLs are generated from a pool of B cells. A pool of polyclonal B cells will contain different V(D)J recombination events, mitigating the impacts of V(D)J associated deletions on generated sequencing data. In such cases, we would expect read coverage from both chromosomes across the IGH locus. In contrast, LCLs representing monoclonal B cells (i.e. B cells in which the same V, D, and J genes are selected by V(D)J recombination), would result in the loss of haplotype-specific sequencing data.
