Injection of an artery (branch or trunk of the angular artery) will flow with the blood pressure of this vessel but must overcome the ophthalmic artery blood pressure to achieve access to the retinal and cerebral vasculature. This is most likely to require continued injection at sufficient pressure with a continuous bolus of material.
