Neuronal HIF-2α deletion enhanced necrotic and apoptotic cell death 24 h after HI. The KO mice had increased levels of spectrin breakdown products at 145/150 kD and 120 kD, as well as cleaved caspase-3 compared to WT mice. (n = 6 for WT; n = 5 for KO). The OD values were normalized to β-actin and expressed as fold change to the WT values (fold of WT).
