Upper Normal Limit | Goal of Reduction | Upper Normal Limit | Goal of Reduction | |
Echocardiography | 125 g/m2 | ≤106 g/m2 | 110 g/m2 | ≤94 g/m2 |
Cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging | 72 g/m2 | ≤62 g/m2 | 62 g/m2 | ≤53 g/m2 |
Note: the overestimation of echocardiographic‐determined left ventricular mass is well recognized and has been reported by many authors. The ability to resolve the endocardium and distinguish finite trabecular myocardium vs a coalescing of the trabeculations, as well as complete interrogation of 3‐dimensional mass vs 2‐dimensional estimations help to explain the generally lower quantitated mass by cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging.
