Southern and Northern hybridization. (A) Southern hybridization. Conservation of the gene encoding the p200 antigen among stocks of B. bigemina from different geographical locations. Genomic DNA (between 5 and 10 μg) was digested with EcoRI, electrophoresed through a 1% agarose gel, transferred to a nylon membrane, and probed with [α-32P]dCTP-labeled Bb3.5 cDNA.
