(A) Experimental timeline. Mice were trained on the paired associates task until a criterion of 80% correct was achieved. The mice were then given voluntary access to a running wheel or remained sedentary for 4 weeks. Then the mice were tested for retention of the PAL task for seven sessions followed by reversal training in the PAL task. (B) The touchscreen apparatus and the correction location of each image during the initial PAL training as well as the reversal condition.
