Figure 4. Effects of T-CAR gel on the development of UV-induced skin tumors in SKH-1 mice.

Figure 4.

Mice were pre-treated with the T-CAR gel or empty transfersome for two weeks. The mice were then exposed to gradual doses of UV up to 150 mJ/cm2 three times per week, and drug treatments were given immediately after each irradiation. (A) Tumor incidence is graphed as a Kaplan-Meier curve and analyzed via a Mantel-Cox log-rank test. The number of tumors per mouse (B) and average tumor volume per mouse (C) are plotted and analyzed via a RM-ANOVA with a Tukey-Kramer post hoc test; groups that are statistically different (p < 0.05) are denoted with an asterisk (*) in the legend; n = 10. All data are offset to allow for clear identification of the data expressed as mean ± SD. (D) Histology of tumor tissues showing SCC, papilloma and epidermal dysplasia in control and T-CAR treatment groups.
