^aAn 8-ml CPT tube specimen was collected from individual patients undergoing a coronary angioplasty procedure. Mononuclear cells were prepared according to the manufacturer's instructions, and DNA was extracted by using a Qiagen DNA Mini-kit. Aliquots of eluted DNA (2.5 μl) were tested by five PCR assays, and positives were confirmed by repeat PCR and hybridization with an internal oligonucleotide probe as described in Materials and Methods.
