Fenofibrate eye drops ameliorated retinal vascular permeability and retinal inflammation in STZ-induced diabetes rats. Two weeks after STZ injection, diabetic rats received 0.5% fenofibrate (FF) eye drops (twice/day, 7 day). (C) The vascular permeability was measured by spectroscopy using Evans blue dye as tracer in the vehicle group (n = 18 eyes per group) and 0.5% FF group (n = 22 eyes per group). The extracted Evans blue dye was normalized to the total retina protein concentration. Data were expressed as mean ± SEM and analyzed by an unpaired Student’s t-test.
