Effect of miR-34a overexpression on epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT)-related phenotypes in A549 and H1299 cells. These cells were transfected with NC (20 pmol/well) or miR-34a mimic (20 pmol/well) for 24 h. After 24 or 72 h, the mRNA expression levels of (A) α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), vimentin, N-cadherin, and (C) cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor 1A (CDKN1A) were measured by real-time PCR. (B) Protein levels of α-SMA and p53 were analyzed by Western blotting. (D) The migration ability was confirmed by scratch-wound assay as described in Section 2.
