Behavioural differences in Trpa1 WT and KO mice triggered by the major component of cat odour, valeric acid. Significant differences were detected in the duration (a) and frequency (b) of sniffing the odour holder between the two groups. However, differences in innate fear (freezing) were not present in this trial (c,d). Individual values are represented on a Gantt diagram (e,f). n = 10 in both (WT and KO) groups, the symbol # shows a significant difference between the two genotypes, in cases with # p < 0.05, and ## p < 0.01.
