β-Oxidation activity measurements using fatty acids of different chain lengths. Cells grown on oleate medium were incubated with 1-¹⁴C-labeled MCFA (C12:0) or LCFA (C18:1), and β-oxidation rates were measured (see Materials and Methods). The β-oxidation rates in wild-type (WT) cells were taken as a reference (100%) and are expressed as the sum of [1-¹⁴C]CO₂ and water-soluble β-oxidation products. Each experiment was performed at least two times, and the means are shown by error bars.
