The NF-κB mRNA expression level is higher in male (A) spontaneously hypertensive rat (SHR), but not in the female (B), compared to normotensive rats (WR). Exposure of rats to 6-week continuous light induced pronounced of NF-κB transcript increase in the male and female SHR but not in WR. Omacor^® did suppress elevation of NF-κB mRNA elevation in both the male and female SHR to the value detected in healthy WR rats.
