Methods Method of randomisation: Sealed envelopes
Blinding of outcome assessors: Blinded
Length of follow up: Three weeks
Participants 73 patients with minimally angulated (< 40 degrees) closed fractures of the little finger metacarpal neck with no rotational deformity or associated injury.
Interventions (1) Neighbour strapping with early active mobilization of the MCP and IP joints for 3 weeks.
(2) Metacarpal brace heat moulded to the contours of the patient's hand while the metacarpal head was supported and held in place by a bandage. Early active mobilization of the MCP and IP joints for 3 weeks.
