Fine-tuning of terminal selector initiation by neural bHLH factors. The neural bHLH factors regulate the level of expression of the terminal selectors ttx-3 and ceh-10 during the initiation phase. This allows the level of TTX-3 and CEH-10 proteins to reach a threshold above which TTX-3 and CEH-10 can maintain their expression, as well as trigger and maintain the terminal differentiation of the AIY neuron.
